Do you carry all Magic cards?
 

We try to carry as many Magic cards as possible but sometimes we run out of cards. We are continually purchasing cards in order to provide a better selection.

Do you carry other card games?
 

No, we carry no other collectable card games. We have decided to remain focused and dedicated on providing Magic Card singles only.

Can I place an order for cards not in stock?
 

Unfortunately you cannot place a back order on cards. Card prices are continually changing and we cannot guarantee that a current price quote will be the same in the future. We advise that you check back often since new cards will continuously be added.

What shipping methods are available?
 

The following shipping methods are available depending on your location:

UNITED STATES

Canada Post Letter Mail
Delivery times for standard shipping are unreliable and vary widely from 4 days to 4+ weeks. This shipping method does not include tracking, delivery confirmation or insurance! By selecting this shipping method you assume all responsibility and you agree that you will not hold MTG Island accountable for any late, lost or damaged items. Xpresspost shipping is our recommended shipping method.

Canada Post (Xpresspost USA)
Delivery times for Xpresspost shipping are guaranteed depending on your location (please see chart below). If you do not receive your cards within the expected shipping time, Canada Post will refund you your shipping costs. All Xpresspost orders include tracking, delivery confirmation and $100CDN insurance. Up to $500CDN insurance may be purchased by selecting the 'Additional Insurance' option at checkecout and the package will be insured for the value of your order, up to $500CDN.

How are cards packaged?
 

All cards are guaranteed to arrive in the stated condition. Packaging methods incude using hard toploaders, plastic cases, bubble envelopes or a combination of each.

How long will it take before my order is shipped?
 

Once payment has been received and verified we make full attempts to send the order out within 24 hours.

How are cards graded?
 

Cards have been rated using the following scale: M - NM - EX - VG - G - P


Mint
(M)



This unplayed card is perfect in every way.

Near Mint
(NM)



This unplayed card shows almost no wear and may have a few minor scraches and/or slight marks on the card's edges.

Excellent
(EX)



This card has been played, but not heavily. It has some minor scratches and/or less-than-perfect edges. It will show less than 1/32" depth of white along one or two edges of one face of the card.

Very Good
(VG)



This card has obviously been played more heavily. It lacks marks that would make it easily identifiable. It has some scratches and/or less-than-perfect edges. It will show less than 1/16" depth of white along one or more edges of one face of the card. It may have a minor crease that is only visible close up.

Good
(G)



This card has a played look to it. It will have white showing on three or four edges on both faces. This card may also have more than 1/16" depth of white showing on an edge on the back face of the card. It may also have permanent black marks from dirt. Cannot be easily distingushed from the other Good condition cards of the playdeck.

Poor
(P)

This card is in less than Good condition. It has a distinguishing mark that distinguishes it from other cards of the playdeck.

What is the difference between Alpha and Beta?
  Alpha cards are easily distinguishable by having rounder corners. The easiest way to determine this is by placing an Alpha card up against a Beta card.

What are Collector's Edition cards?
 

Collector's Edition were printed with a gold border on the back and square corners. Collector's Edition cards are only worth about 1/6 of their Beta counterparts. Be careful however, many Collector's Edition cards have had their corners trimmed to appear identical to Beta cards when played in a colored sleeve.

What are misprints and miscuts?
 

Misprints are cards such as the infamous Blue Hurricane, Summer Magic, Wyvern backs, Revised Serendib Efreet, Cursed Scroll or Time Elemental/Serra Angel to name a few. These cards have ALL been produced with a specific error. They are played in the same manner as their correct counterparts and not necessarily by what is printed on the card.

Miscuts are caused during the manufacturing process. These errors can be singular events and can consist of packaging crimps, dye bleeds, missing dyes, miscut cards (cards that are not centered or in extreme cases have other cards showing) or other printing errors.

What are artist's proofs?
 

Artists often receive copies of the cards which use their artwork. These cards have a normal looking front but have a white back which is usually autographed.

What are PSA Cards?
 

These are cards which have been professionally graded by the Professional Sports Authenticator (PSA). The ratings go from 1-10 with 10 being a GEM MINT card. These cards sell for a premium since their condition is verified and they have been sealed with their rating in a tamper proof container.

How do I place an order through your site?
 

METHOD 1: E-MAIL
- view the list of magic cards available on the text page
- compile a list of the cards you want to order (copy CTRL C and paste CTRL V)
- email this list to sales@mtgisland.com
- include your name, email and address
- once we have received this we will reply to confirm your order
- once you have received confirmation, then you send payment
- please provide a copy of the printout when mailing payment

METHOD 2: SHOPPING CART
- view the list of magic cards available on the cart page.
- click "Add to cart" beside the card you will like to order (this will add it to your shopping cart)
- once in the shopping cart you can enter the number of a certain card that you would like to purchase
(you cannot purchase more than the number listed on the sale page)
- once you have completed your order, click "View Cart" to ensure that your order is correct.
- click "Check Out" to go to a secure PayPal site where you will be asked to enter your PayPal information
(if you do not have a credit card account, you will be promted to enter your credit card information)

How long do you hold checks/cheques for?
 

When using a personal check/cheque, we hold it for up to 10 business days. This is to ensure that it has cleared the bank.

Can I cancel/switch an order?
 

Yes, you can cancel or switch an order but we highly discourage this. It takes us a great deal of time to go through the inventory and compile the orders so please try and get it right the first time.

Can I return an order?
 

Yes, you may return an order. The cards must be received by us in the same condition that we originally sent them in. The full price of the cards will be refunded less shipping costs.

What do I do if my order is wrong?
 

If we have included the wrong cards or missed some cards, let us know at sales@mtgisland.com and we will quickly fix the situation by offering a store credit, refund or by sending you the proper cards.

What do I do if a card is damaged?
 

If your order is damaged, simply return it to us and we will glady exchange or refund the full amount of your order.

Do you share your mailing lists?
 

We have never, nor do we ever plan on sharing any of the information you submit to us (including name, address, e-mail address, etc.). We keep all of this information strictly confidential and use it only to help serve our customers better.
